Services
MI is the source when it comes to providing molecular based biological tools for the environmental industry. Below are links detailing our services.

Quantitative PCR(Q-Potential/Q-Expression)
A rapid approach using nucleic acids (DNA or RNA) to quantify specific microbes, groups of microbes or functional genes involved with bioremediation or other biological processes.

Denaturing Gradient Gel Electrophoresis (DGGE)
A profiling technique using nucleic acids (DNA or RNA) to identify dominant microorganisms.

Phospholipid Fatty Acid (PLFA)
A broad-based biochemical approach to assess viable biomass concentrations, and provide a profile the entire microbial community.

Stable Isotope Probing(SIP)
An extension of PLFA analysis which provides the ability to definitively prove degradation of a specific compound (i.e. Benzene, MTBE, etc.) using our Bio-Trap samplers.

Edible Oil Fatty Acid (EOFA)
A modified version of our PLFA method that is used to monitor the distribution of edible oil substrates for bioremediation.

Isolate ID
A rapid DNA-based identification of an isolated microorganism.

Protein Mass
A rapid approach to determine the total concentration of microbial biomass based on the total amount of protein.
