What does it mean if the genus match is "low"?

Answer
A low match shows that the DNA sequence isolated from the organism does not closely match any sequences in the NCBI database. If the DNA isolated is a clean sequence then it is likely that the organism present is a novel organism (i.e. not in the database). Another cause of a low match is that the DNA isolated from the sample may contain a lot of “noise” and therefore not provide a clean sequence. As such, a low similarity ratio should be interpreted with caution.
