What does it mean if there isn't a genus match, but is a match for a family or order?

Answer

If there is good to excellent homology (similarity ratio of ~0.800 to 1.000), the organism represented in that band is likely a member of that family or order.  There simply may not be sequences in the NCBI database that are identified at the genus level. As discussed previously, the lower the similarity ratio, the less degree of certainty with any identification, whether of a specific genus, family or order.
